The Art of Fire - Ignite your passions and release that fire within

I had so much fun doing this series. I will write a little about each image as well as share a few outtakes.

MICHAELA: There were two umbrellas on  fire that we shot with. I ended up liking this image better. The other umbrella we used was much larger. They don't burn for long! Within seconds she was just holding the aluminum frame. She is coming out of an old under ground root cellar that is located on my parents property. This was the first photo-shoot of this long planned out series. Initially I wanted to do a series of ten images with ten different models but with how long it was taking to get just the first five done, I decided to end it there. These were all shot within a span of two months.

NEYSA: Also known as my Mom! These were shot in her dining room and yes that is real fire. We ended up using a wad of napkins that were absorbed in lighter fluid, which burned beautifully on a dinner plate. Those flowers on the table were from her Birthday on the 15th of January. I just love the dramatic setting of these images!

BOBBI: I traveled the furthest for this shot. I did not think I was going to get to do this concept with the couch until Bobbi told me she had one that I could use! I am glad I shared my ideas with her because if I didn't this would have never happened. Fun Fact: The dried roses on the table were a gift from my husband years ago!

JOSHUA: These were shot at my house with my favorite tree in the background. The newspaper was backed with a thick cardboard so it was easy for him to hold and the pages glued just in the right spots to look natural while it was burning. We also wanted it to hold up with the wind that we were dealing with that day.

MICHAEL: Also known as my Husband; who not only let me set him on fire but helped plan how I'm going to do it! We modified the hat underneath to protect his head against the heat and he is wearing the jacket he wore on our wedding day. These were taken right in our own yard.
