This is my Father: Today my Mom and I went out of town to go Christmas shopping and we hit up some of the early black Friday deals. Before we left town she asked my Dad if we had any rope to strap something down in the trunk if we needed to. He said no and just as we began to pull out of the driveway he rushed out of the garage to hand me some he found. I could not have set this shot up better if I tried. From his American flag flying free in the background to his prized Dodge that he drove home in 1986 when they lived in Florida. In December of 1988 my Dad had a terrible accident while in the Navy stationed in Bermuda. It has since left him brain injured and wheel chair bound. After the accident he was left comatose leaving all the ones around him in wonder if he will ever wake up again. With that not only flipping my Mothers world upside-down, she was also 6 months pregnant with yours truly. This photo screams my father in so many ways. The ways I only know of him but like the saying goes; a picture TRULY can be worth a thousand words. New readers should note that your dad is wheelchair-bound, but that doesn't slow him up one bit!
